Yesterday I shared some unopened straw flowers. Today you can see what they look like when they open up.

Today’s walk wasn’t long, and I wasn’t really in the mood to do photography except when I saw a huge patch of these gorgeous straw flowers. It was the only time, in fact, that I pulled out the camera.

Happy March 1 to you all. It’s quite sunny out today: I readily confess I prefer the clouds and, yes, some more rain. But since it’s a sunny day here’s a sunny flower from quite some time ago, when I was still teaching at UCSC and finally took the time to visit the Arboretum there.
I hope to get out and find more of these, now that I believe I do better work, but this’ll have to do for now.
