I first saw a patch of Sparaxis a few years back, when I started walking the neighborhood with my camera. They were new to me and had to ask for help in identifying them (the homeowner said they were Freesia, which I knew wasn’t correct, although I could see the similarity in the leaves). The minute I spotted the flower patch, though, I saw them all over.
I find it so interesting how I simply didn’t have the eyes to see some things until I started using a camera. It has taught me so much about taking the time to really look.
