Rose Walk

I took a little walk to the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden again today. I knew there would be less wind and there were a few roses I wanted to have a go at again. When I saw this one I had to spend a bit of time with it. Someone I know from many years ago had posted it before, as there is a note on it in his brother’s memory. I thought he might like to see it is blooming again and looks lovely.

Goodnight Flower

Today was my weekend so I took a lovely walk to both of our local rose gardens. I’m hopeful that I’ll come up with one or two decent shots, but the wind was crazy, so it’s possible that nothing will come of the day other than a 10 mile walk. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow, although I’m back to work in the afternoon.

This goodnight flower is from my visit to Nola’s Iris Garden. I *think* I’ve identified it correctly, but I can’t find any images online to verify this. I spelled the name exactly as I saw it on the sign, so yes, there is a double i there.) I see this and think elephant. Hm. I wonder why?!
