This has been the year of our sons’ weddings: our older son was married in late July/August (two ceremonies, thus two months) and our younger in October. Both wed absolutely amazing women, and we are so grateful, delighted and blessed!

For our younger son’s events I had the joy of creating invitations and signs. What fun it was to figure this out, learn how to make it work, and, especially, come up with what I think is a very classy reception invitation.

I didn’t want to share these before the wedding occurred, making sure they remained very special for the bride and groom, but now that everything is done I thought I’d show them to readers of this site.

The first event (although not my first bit of work: the wedding invitations were the very first item to figure out!) was the rehearsal dinner. (And, for anyone in the New York city area, I can highly recommend Julia’s Beer and Wine Bar!)

The wedding invitation was our daughter-in-law’s idea and I love how it all turned out: there is a black card stock backing. The image is printed on white card stock, and the invitation was printed on vellum. This was then all put together with the old-fashioned black photo corners. To finish things off we used black envelopes and silver gel pen to address them. (Akwaaba Mansion is an excellent venue for parties. I believe there were 55 for this event, and it was just fantastic! Catering was also wonderful, and done by Olivia Cooks For You.)

For the reception I made two cards to draw attention to the card table and the guest book (and yes, the guestbook image is the same as the dinner invitation: I just made the dinner card very “hazy”):
