Eleven Miles

Yep. That’s how far I walked today.

I’m just a little tiny bit tired, but now I must head to the stores and get errands done.

This is just an early “it’s really too darn windy to make any photographs” shot. I don’t have time to see if anything really turned out or not. I probably shouldn’t have bothered bringing the camera, but oh well! If I’d left the camera at home the wind would probably have died down and then I’d have been annoyed with myself!

Because I Think of Them as Male

… even though I realize there are black widows and not widowers. It’s just the way my brain works. Dogs are male. Cats are female. Lizards are male. Birds are female. Now, mind you, I KNOW none of that is true, but hey, the Germans say a fork is female (how very wrong is THAT?! Clearly a fork should be male and a spoon female and they say it’s the opposite!), so there you go.

New Gear?

I’m looking at a backpack. Yes. Backpack. As it turns out I’m going on a pack trip for the first time in over thirty years. Or make that thirty-five. I’m looking at the Flipside Trek BP 450 AW by Lowepro. It looks like it might just be the bag for me: it would carry the camera equipment along with some food, a light jacket and a few other items. (I hope it is okay that I “borrowed” some images from Lowepro! I’ll write to them to make sure that was okay … I’m not one to break rules.)

(These photos are from the Lowepro site so I might have to remove them: I’ve written to them to make sure it’s okay to share them.)

Dan had warned me that the search for the perfect bag never ends!

I currently use an older (and colorful orange!) Lowepro flipside bag.

That worked so well for me I purchased a smaller version (see below) for days I don’t need to carry as much. Yep, I guess I really like the Lowepro brand! They carry very high quality equipment and they have good service if you have a problem with something.

I’m curious if any readers have tried the new Flipside Trek bag. If so, fill me in. It’s not inexpensive so if anyone can fill me in that would be super. Otherwise I suppose I’ll spend the big bucks and then I’ll be filling you in instead.
