Yesterday we stopped off to visit the birds before we headed to the Yosemite Renaissance opening, to which a photo of Dan‘s had been accepted. The day started out beautifully and I look forward to working more on these and other photos. I just wanted to post these two quickly, though, as I like them even nearly straight out of the camera!

We visited the birds on Friday the 13th. It was a wonderful, albeit short, visit!

Light Shining on Branches, 1.1.15
When we visited the birds early on New Year’s Day we encountered not only birds but other pretty sights. This was one. I’m not sure I’ve adequately captured it, but the light was shining on branches that had frost on them and it was quite magical.
When we were visiting the birds it was rather foggy. We stopped to see these little guys, who were visible, but only a bit, due to both the brush and the fog. This is my first shot, when I was still getting my head in gear for the fun day. As is typical with me, it’s doubtful it could be a printable shot, but it is the first shot. No doubt there. It was morning, so I’m sharing it as my good morning shot.

Here is a little series of shots from yesterday’s visit with the birds. I continue to be fascinated by the ibis. The colors one sees when the light hits its wings can be lovely. This was in very little light, so there isn’t as much color as sometimes, but I was happy to catch the bird in flight.
