I do occasionally look at things other than flowers.

the way I see the world
There are times when I could just kick myself! This is one of those. When we were on our big trip this past summer we went to the New York Botanical Gardens because there was an O’Keeffe exhibit there of her work from her Hawaii trip. Just outside the exhibit I shot this image.
WITH MY iPHONE!
I should have used my Rebel. Perhaps, then, I could have made a print that was large enough to share with my photo review group tomorrow. I’ve done all I could to make it presentable and, sadly, it just won’t work. In hindsight I wish I’d bothered to take the time with my good camera!
Hindsight is, as I wrote above, not at all helpful.
Still, it’s a cool image. Similar to the image I posted earlier, I could print it in card size, I’m guessing.
We have been in New York for a week, and arrived home late last night. I did little with photography, and MUCH less if I only count things other than iPhone images.
This particular image, which I rather like, is from the iPhone: I rarely use a “real” camera when in galleries. This was from the Hockney exhibit at the Met.

… and have a New York Night. 8:32:28 PM to be (sort of) exact. (I don’t trust the camera time stamp completely, as I have to correct it frequently.)

I’m not seeing a lot in my very limited collection of images from last week’s trip that I believe will be worth my time, but I’ll give a few a go and perhaps I’ll see more as they “age”. I sort of think I like this one, though.

Over on Google+ I’ve participated in “Unsharp Saturday” on occasion. Here is what I’ll be sharing today:
Unsharp: Shoe Tying, 12.27.13
Sometimes “unsharp” is the best way to describe how my brain is behaving, and it is currently in that very state!
Off I go. A Music in the Mountains Christmas concert is calling. This isn’t a job I normally play, but the regulars live too far away to do a short run like this, so I get the opportunity. I’m happy to go up there!
Meanwhile, I do think about the fun we had last year in New York. If I could go back again this Christmas I’d be there in a heartbeat. Instead I’ll just look at the photos from last year. This scene — and the double shot of phones — just made me smile and I had to capture it.
