Teeth!
Amazing Colors
I am fascinated by this particular prickly pear. I’m pretty sure it’s Opuntia violate var. santa rita … or, if you prefer Purple prickly pear. Honest … the purples and pale greens … well … just look!
They are definitely prickly, though. It’s not the sharp needles, but the tiny little things (glochids, perhaps?) that are quite a nuisance. Believe me, they hurt! While I love them, I don’t think I’d grow them.
Dizzy Day — Dizzy Photo
It appears I am going to deal with what I call a “dizzy day” today. This means very little computer time until it passes, as that only aggravates the condition. I do hope I recover quickly but I think, for now, a walk is in order … natural light seems to be best (and fluorescents the worst). I had thought about a <gasp!> shopping trip to Costco, which I just joined today but that won’t be happening. (I had heard they have good organic produce: in my quick look-see yesterday I saw a few things, but not as many as I had hoped. Their sparkling water was decently priced, but only because they are having a $3 off deal until August 30. I did see a lot of junk food I will be avoiding, though!)
This plant I’m posting might be Kalanchoe tetraphylla, but I really need to read up on my succulents before I get specific.
