Top Nosh Show: Second Photo

Next to the Leucadendron at Top Nosh is this bit of red. The wall continues on with other rainbow colors … be ready for a lot of color!

I believe I’ve posted some of these works before, but I want to do them in the order they appear on the wall. I’m a control freak that way.

First Shot & Getting Reds Right

First Shot: Red Ranunculus, 2.18.15

Reds are tricky, as anyone with a camera can tell you. Getting the color true to what our eye sees can take time. This, though, is truly what my eyes saw. And it was lovely. I had to desaturate (WordPress tells me that desaturate isn’t a word. Funny.) the flower in order to get the red to work properly, and work a bit with contrast as well. But this is it. Finally.

A Lovely Good Monday Morning To You

Droplets on a Ranunculus Papaver nudicaule Petal, 1.23.15

I sure wish I could say what you see are raindrops, and I wish I could say they occurred recently.

Sadly, neither would be true.

This weather is more than a little frightening. We desperately need rain. I can go for walks without wearing winter clothing, much less rain gear.

Praying for rain ….

Still, I offer you this Ranunculus* (WordPress tells me ranunculus is misspelled. That isn’t true.) petal. Because I can.

*Update: Clearly I mislabeled these poppies. I don’t know where my head was, but I’ve corrected things now. I hope.
