From a while ago …

Someone online had written about a restaurant in Siena, and the place sounded familiar so I wound up in my 2016 folder, looking to see if we had eaten there. Turns out we didn’t, but that took me down the 2016 rabbit hole. Oh my goodness, do I have a lot of awful photos from that trip! I think I was trying to snap things quickly so as not to bother family members or something. So much out of focus, and what was I thinking, always lagging behind everyone and taking photos from that perspective? All I see are a whole lot of rear ends and no faces. Crazy me.

But I am now in Radda, and I’m finding some things there I am enjoying. This particular image is just because the window caught my eye … maybe you can figure out why.

All Wrapped Up, 8.27.16

I think I’ll spend some time in 2016 and see what else I find. Mostly it is just so much fun to be reminded of a fabulous Emerson family trip!

Because It Made Me Smile

I’ve occasionally had ideas of themes for my photos. When I began my walks I took a lot of photos of doors, because we had some interesting ones in the neighborhood (as monster homes replace the charming older homes doors aren’t nearly as appealing), I was shooting things that were in the shape of letters, thinking it would be fun to put together an alphabet book of found images. And then there were “animals in windows”. I never managed to really do anything with those idea.

As I was browsing 2016 images, though, I ran across this and it did make me smile. It is merely an iPhone 6 image, but still ….

Not All Flowers …

I wish I knew more about the movie theater that had a kiosk with a cool bit of window decor (what does one call something like this, I wonder?), but I shot this back in 2013 and only now am I looking at some things from then. I’m slow that way. The movie theater is now “The Studio”, an indoor climbing facility. I’ve not been by recently, although it’s on the same street as the California Theatre where Opera San Jose and Symphony Silicon Valley perform. I wonder if this design work is even still there. I do hope so!
