Eastern Sierra Color

When Dan and I go to the Eastern Sierra (something he does annually, usually several times, and I do on occasion) I am pretty much at a loss when it comes to getting photos I really like. Dan has the eye for the larger landscapes, and he sure knows how to work with the light! But … well … there’s not much for my macro work which is what I enjoy the most. But I do attempt to do some landscape work, just to give it a go.

When we came back from our latest trip I didn’t see anything I took as exactly thrilling, but still I know to wait on things and maybe, in a year or two, I’ll think differently. I don’t delete things for a long while, knowing eventually something might stand out.

Meanwhile, I do look at them and work on them a bit and think, “Well, it’s better than nothing!” So this photo, while it doesn’t wrap its arms around me and say, “love me!” I feel as if it does show some of the color we encounter. It’s not just about the aspens, and the brush in front really captures my eye (and sort of my heart sometimes).
