A Little Buggy

I took a six mile walk today. I can’t say I had much energy for it, but the camera still comes out, and I did manage to get back home even while my feet were dragging.

I think this little guy might be a young katydid Miridae (thank you, Kirsten Pearsons!), but I’m not certain. I have a niece who could probably tell me in an instant, though. (And she did!)

Bee with no Sting

As is typical after an opera run, today is “hangover day”. No, I didn’t drink too much, but I feel out of sorts, my brain feels “fuzzy” (as does my vision at the moment), and I feel as if I can’t get much done. Still, I did manage a near seven mile walk, and two loads of laundry have been done. I guess I’m managing … ever so slowly!

I believe this bee is a male carpenter bee. I will check with my niece who knows all about these things, though, to verify! And yes, this is from today’s walk. If what I read is correct, this bee doesn’t have a stinger. I can live with that.
