Another day, another 6 mile walk. It was a breezy one, so making flower photos was a challenge. This sunflower seemed to want to cooperate, though.

Today’s walk was a longer one … close to 7 miles. How wonderful it is to have the time to do these now! I did very little photography, but this rose did cause me to stop before my “no camera until you’ve done 2 miles” rule.

My walk today was a bit more than 5 1/2 miles. I didn’t manage a lot of photography, but these allium (and more … the parking strip had a good number) caught my eye.

Because Dan and I went to Filoli this morning I had to take a late afternoon walk, which is not something I enjoy: I much prefer the coolness of the morning. But still, it was best that I at least get out for a bit. The only time I took my camera out was for some zinnias, and only because I haven’t worked with them in eons.

I took an almost 6 mile walk today, despite it being rather windy. It was lovely to get out in the morning, when the temperature was in the low 60s. I prefer my walking weather to be somewhere between 55° and 65°.
At first I wasn’t sure I’d be using the camera at all, but when I saw this Phormium (at least I’m fairly sure that’s what it is!) I just had to stop. The colors and lines appeal to me.
The wind died down a bit later on, so I did manage a few more images that might make it here at some point.

I took a little 4 mile walk today. I didn’t manage my “two miles before the camera comes out” rule due to seeing this flower.

The temperature outside was lovely for a four mile walk this morning. (Now if only the wind would stop it would have been “perfecter”.) I could have gone even longer, but it’s a four student day so I decided I needed some down time before I started teaching.

After yesterday’s lengthy walk I opted for a shorter, less-than-four-mile walk today. I did only a bit with the camera, but I did stop early on when I spotted some flowers I’d never seen before. This is a first shot and, initially, I cropped it when I was working in Lightroom. Instead, though, I’m opting to show what I did: yes, I clipped the petal on the left, and I do have later images that are rather nice … but a first shot is a first shot and that’s that. Besides, the focus is on the larger flower, so I guess it works in any case.
What a lovely plant. I’m so happy to add something new to my list of flora, and I do have a few more images I’ll be sharing at a later date.
The common names for this flower are pale yellow-eyed-grass or satin flower.

I had a short walk this morning and a favorite poppy patch was blooming.
I’m no longer sure I’m identifying poppies correctly. I know this is a Papaver, but while I have assumed it was a somniferum, now I’m reading that it might be a rhoeas. Anyone?
