Looking Back

This time I’m looking back at the backpack trip I was able to take over a year ago, with some very wonderful people who also happen to be great photographers. I’m still ever so grateful that they allowed me to tag along that year.

We had weather on some days, and this was one of those days. I do love some rain, so when it came in I was pretty darn happy.

Looking Further Back

I’m so easily distracted. I should be cleaning … but I was looking back at images from the Sierra Nevada … even as far back as 2003. Oh how young Dan and I look! I won’t post any of those here: I was using a camera that was less than stellar, and while it’s fun to look at younger me, it’s not fun to see the low quality images. (If you wonder, that first camera was some sort of Olympus and if it was more than 3 megapixels I’d be surprised.)

Moving forward, I finally progress to decent cameras. Not that that meant I would always get great images, but at least they wouldn’t be pixilated.

Looking Back

I have a lot of photos from our recent trip that could be reviewed and worked on (or dumped). Instead, though, I have gone back a year. I suspect it’s because Dan is in on a Sierra trip right now and this is my way of coping. Or something.

This is from our pack trip. (Dan is currently with some of the same men who were on the trip I was able to take.) We had some wonderful weather while we were out … I love it when rain comes in or even just threatens to do so.

Trying To Remember What I Saw

Color. It’s a toughie sometimes. What the camera sees (frequently tends to be bluer than what I see: for instance, snow isn’t white most of the time, it’s blue! But we see it as white.) what we see (usually more yellow and often a bit brighter as well — perhaps because my eyes adjust to the shade?), and then remembering and processing a photo to what I believe I saw … it’s a challenge. But I think this is what I saw …?!
