Black & White

Sometimes an image just works in black and white better than in color. It frequently has to do with the fluorescent color of the flower. In this case the Dianthus was such a fluorescent pink it wasn’t working for me, and the background was half green and half street gray, so I found that to be distracting as well.

Good morning … and goodbye!

Off I go. A Music in the Mountains Christmas concert is calling. This isn’t a job I normally play, but the regulars live too far away to do a short run like this, so I get the opportunity. I’m happy to go up there!

Meanwhile, I do think about the fun we had last year in New York. If I could go back again this Christmas I’d be there in a heartbeat. Instead I’ll just look at the photos from last year. This scene — and the double shot of phones — just made me smile and I had to capture it.
