Dreaming of This Place

We are now enjoying a rainy day here in my neighborhood. It’s quite welcome, having lived in drought conditions for so very long. I am always grateful for rain, as I am a real rain lover, but at this point I think the entire state is grateful!

Still, I dream of going to this lovely spot again …

Yosemite

Here’s one more from our weekend trip. This time no aspen color. No aspens at all, in fact.

While Dan was resting up for the long drive home (he’s usually the driver and I just enjoy the ride) I was able to walk around near the parking lot for a bit. Then I looked up. (Way up.)

I keep puzzling over how to catch the wonder that is Yosemite granite. I’ll keep working on it, no doubt.

National Earth Day

While we are on this dusty planet it seems to me we should be good caretakers. It’s not all about us. It’s about our children, our grandchildren … and about doing what is right and good. I not only pray for rain — something beyond our control — but pray for good stewardship. I pray we stop doing damage. I pray we find ways to undo the damage we have already done.

Yes. It’s National Earth Day. I’d prefer, though, that we keep caring for our one and only place to live every day. It just seems like good and right.

And now I think I need a walk. Here’s just a small bit of Yosemite National Park … not one of the icons, but just something that I like.
