Yellow & Red Protea, 3.27.15
My daughter and I attempted to visit the UC Irvine arboretum while I was visiting last week. It turns out it’s no longer open to the public, which is a shame. Fortunately a volunteer let us quickly race through, giving us about twenty minutes. Of course that wasn’t nearly enough time, but it was better than nothing!
This Protea just looked like angels wings … or some sort of wings, anyway!

I’m just home from a trip to SoCal, where I was visiting some of our kids. It wasn’t a photo trip, really, but of course I did make a few (hah!) shots now and again. This is from The Getty Center garden. To me it appeared as if the poppy was applauding.

Whew, am I ever exhausted! I drove down to SoCal today, leaving home a bit after 6 AM. I stopped off at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, and then dealt with the worst traffic ever getting to my lodging in Laguna Hills Still, I am now able to visit with our “SoCal Kids” and I’m delighted to be here.
Before much needed sleep I’ll post this flower.
