Sometimes They Disappear

Since I walk a great deal in my neighborhood I get to know the plants pretty well. I know where I’ll see iris pop up. I know where the magnolia with the yellow blossoms is located. I know a favorite dahlia spot. And I know knew where to find a most amazing blossoming tree. (I believe it was a crabapple.)

Alas, the house was sold, and the buyers knocked the entire thing down, destroying all the plant life with it. This tree is no more. I will miss it. Blossoming Tree, 3.10.15blossoms_i_3-10-15blossoms_ii_3-10-15

First Shot

This is a funny first shot: I had pulled the camera out and was just getting ready to focus when I accidentally clicked the shutter button! I was pretty sure I’d get home and trash the image but … well … it’s not half bad. I’m just quickly posting it … might do more with it later, but we’ll see. It is, after all, just a first shot. It’s like that first note of the day that I play on oboe: it’s not always my fave!
