Want to Shop from Home?

If you want to avoid going in to stores, and feel like supporting a small business, I hope you consider the gift of cards or prints. I have “basic” prints that are less costly, and I have fully framed prints, although at this point I will only sell using the frames I have in stock since it’s unlikely an order would arrive in time for me to then frame and ship it out.

Most images I post here are print-worthy, but I can assure you I won’t sell something that doesn’t print as well as I would like. That can happen sometimes: it looks great on a computer, with that marvelous backlit screen, and then just doesn’t live up to my expectations as a print. If I’m not happy, I won’t sell it.

I am able to gift wrap any purchases, and can send your order to you or to the recipient. (Purchaser pays for shipping, but gift wrap is free.)

So think about it, and get back to me quickly. Time will now pass VERY quickly, and with postal service being a bit slower in this bizarre time you want to get things out on the early side. (And if I can’t get it done in time I’ll be sure and let you know.)

Gift Giving?

I realize it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but this year many of us will be sending gifts through the mail rather than delivering them in person or having people in our homes. If you are interested in sending any boxed card sets I am ready and willing to start the printing! In addition, I will wrap any gifts for free, and then send them off to the address(es) you provide. (I do charge for shipping.)

For now wrapping paper will be what is called “Kraft paper” (a natural light brown color), with accents of either blue, black red, or white and raffia ribbon will be the finishing touch. If enough request it I will purchase distinctly Christmas, other holiday, or birthday wrapping paper, but I think these work well for many holidays, and adding a red and/or green raffia ribbon certainly gives the package the Christmas vibe!

You can select boxed cards by visiting the Card Collection page. There are a lot of options to choose from. If, instead, you have a particular idea for a series and want me to put something new together please feel free to contact me. I love assignments like that, and I assure you if I can’t make it work I will let you know: I refuse to put something together that I think isn’t good enough.

Of course you can also purchase prints, like the one above, and I will package and send those off as well. If you order prints without mats and frames those are shipped rather quickly, but most people prefer at least the matted work, and my frame stock isn’t huge so it’s possible I’d have to order supplies for that, so these need a bit of time to prepare. Prices are listed on the print page.

Print Delivered

It took a bit longer to arrive, but I will certainly cut the USPS some slack, what with all they are doing. (They are unsung heroes at the moment, in my opinion.) My print arrived at the buyer’s house yesterday and she has already sent me a photo of it. There is nothing like seeing one’s work on someone else’s wall!

I normally do a simple brushed silver frame, but the buyer had requested wood with some gold in it because the room has other frames like that and she didn’t think silver would work well. It was fun to choose something different, and Frame Destination did a marvelous job!

Thank you, Irene, for your purchase and for sharing your photo of the print with me!

Matted, Framed, and Ready To Find a Home

I have some prints that I’ve framed and have sitting here that are looking for a home.  (Hover over images to read more about each. Click on image to see larger and separately) All of these are my premium prints, signed, numbered and come with the certificate of authenticity.

These are matted, but have yet to be framed. Prices depend upon whether you choose plain prints ($60), matted ($100), or matted and framed ($175).

A Short Ramble and some Pink

My photography is taking a back seat for a time. We have family coming for a visit beginning tomorrow, and walks will be camera-free if and when they occur.

Today was spent preparing the house a bit. Miracles can’t happen (cracked tile will remain cracked, marred floors will remain marred, and not all clutter will be removed: so it goes!), but we did hang a number of photos (no, not mine … maybe someday?) and I’m tremendously pleased with how things look. We like to have not only our own work, but work of others showing here. Today we put up six new works from other artists. It’s fun to see their work on our walls, and we do love supporting other artists.

Just some quick pix from the iPhone to show work from William Neill, Charles Cramer, Penny Otwell, Franka Mlikota Gabler, Camille Seaman, John Sexton, Robin Black and Charlotte Hoffman. (Best seen live and in person, as you might imagine.)

Still, I do like to share my own work, and while I don’t print and frame much, I enjoy seeing them here and I love to make cards. I think, in fact, I’m more satisfied when I make my cards for some reason … maybe because I know when someone buys one they will then share it with someone else in most cases. Or at least some cases. Friends have told me they buy a card and then decide they want to keep it. (I suggest, “Just buy more!” Hah!)

Dahlias nearly always cause me to stop a walk and pull out the camera. In this instance I came across a patch of pink at the end of my walk … and right across the street from my house.

Another Photo On The Wall

There really is nothing like seeing one’s work on someone’s wall. It just makes the heart happy! Or at least that’s how it works for me.

This is the second print I made for my sister’s housewarming gift. I’m really happy with it, and even more happy with her wonderful place. (It took me over a year to get these to her … I’m slow. But had I not waited, she would have two other images on her wall, as these were made rather recently.)

The lighting was tricky, so the colors may be slightly off … funny how that goes. But I really like how these both worked!

On the Wall

This is by no means a great photo (simply an iPhone picture and the lighting was difficult) but I was so very pleased with the way my First Shot: Tradescantia turned out and it’s now on my sister’s wall. It’s a very special thing to see one’s work printed!

This is a 24×16 image framed in a 32×24 frame. It fit perfectly in the space we had picked.
