It’s my weekend. Not one bit of work today, aside from house cleaning, of course! But first: a walk — and for as long as I like.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this shot from some years back. This was made on the morning of our 37th wedding anniversary. We were staying at a lovely little B&B near Mariposa.

I’m not at all sure I’ll get to the Eastern Sierra this year: I missed so many lessons with my oboe students due to our long trip it’s hard to justify leaving them again. So what to do if I can’t make the time to go with Dan? Look over old photos, of course!

This is a non-cropped image and I think the new lens worked well. I’d been warned that I’d need to get SO much closer with it, and that light would then become an issue, but honestly, making this image (and these are tiny grape buds) worked easily.
Grape Buds and Leaf, 4.30.18
It is a beautifully rainy day here: we need as much of the wet stuff as we can get, so it’s great for that reason, but I just love rain, so there’s that, too! Soon our golden hills will be showing more of what I call “new green”, but for now have this taro leaf with sun shining through. I shared this with my photo critique group and it seemed to get their seal of approval. I’m pondering … perhaps a card set of green? Or maybe of abstracts?
Or both.
Time will tell.

I am still going through April 2017 images. It’s taking a good amount of time because as I go I get distracted and start working on an image. I’m finding I can delete a lot, but there are some images that make me wonder why I never posted them, and many bring back some great memories of walks.
I’m a huge fan of green, so I share this for this fine Friday morning, before I head off to a Flying Dutchman rehearsal with Opera San José.
