the way I see the world
… and this may be it. I wanted flora in red, but didn’t want all of one kind. So here you go: a dahlia, camellia (with the name Yuletide!), begonia, rose, tulip, hibiscus, cyclamen, and anemone.
And yes, I have more reds to choose from. Collection #2, maybe? We’ll see
My card collections are always 8 cards. Always. Well … except when they are sixteen. But never nine. So how will I choose which of these to cut, I wonder? (No, I’m not saying you need to tell me: it really is a decision I have to make!)
Or maybe I should just have a special edition, nine card collection. Hmm.
In any case, it was fun to search on “Papaver” to find all these red poppies. I began all this because I was searching for images I could use for a new Christmas collection after posting the earlier poppy (in the center of this grouping … and possibly the weak link, really), but honestly I don’t think these work for Christmas. Still, I do like them, and they make pretty cards.
(I noted in the subject that these are the small card images. That’s because they are cropped for that size. Larger cards will show more of the original image, most likely. )
UPDATE: I’ve now printed 5×7 cards. To give you an idea of what the difference is (rather minimal, really, but do you notice it? I prefer these ones below.) between the crops, here are those images:
Maybe next year I will like you more. Time will tell. But here … have a flower. I am sharing a non-August flower, because it’s what I have available here to share at the moment.
In the past I couldn’t have imagined going on a walk without my camera, but Covid changed that. For some reason Covid caused me to be less interested in photography. The times I did take the camera with me I found people weren’t as careful about the six feet of distance: if I was down on the ground I guess they thought it didn’t matter if they walked right by me. I found it uncomfortable to even try to shoot things.
This week, though, I was determined to use it at least once. So both Monday and Tuesday I took it with me. I had forgotten the weight that adds to my travels, and I walk slower as well, but I forced myself to shoot at least a few things. It was breezy, so it was a challenge to get anything in focus at all. Here’ s a shot from Monday.
I have another set of cards to share! This time what you see here are the cropped cards for the smaller size, my 4.25×5.5 cards. Normally I show the “all of it” for cards, but I thought I’d first share exactly what you’d see if you purchased this size.
Why no roses, you might ask? Because I already have a boxed set of red roses, and I wanted to do some other flowers. That’s why.
Can you name these flowers?
Oh … and obviously these don’t have to be Christmas cards! They work for other occasions as well. (Can anyone say Valentine’s Day?)
