Dan and I took a quick trip to the coast, spending one night in Monterey and driving as far as Cambria to the south and, today, up to Pacifica.

Succulent Sunday, Anyone?
While I was not one to appreciate succulents in my younger days, I have grown to love these amazing plants. In some ways they seem like some sort of alien beings to me. But then I do have a rather vivid imagination!

I think this might be Saxifraga umbrosa, but I’m not positive. This flower was found on a hike we took on Jenner mountain in Bavaria. I would love to go back and do a better job with the flowers, but this is what I have, so oh well!

I don’t know what this plant is, but I know I made it while in Bavaria exactly two years ago today. We were in Schönau am Königsee, and I fell in love with the area. How I would love to be there right now!
