On my walk today I spotted these blue flowers. Unfortunately it was pretty windy and they never would be still enough for a perfectly in focus shot, but I like this despite the blur.
This is Ixia, also knows as the African corn lily from what I am reading. This was a flower new to me. I love when that happens!

An Afternoon Flower For You
These tiny little things were found at Filoli last February (and I’m sure are back again now). I don’t believe they are forget-me-nots, but I’m not certain. I was thinking they might be Brunnera maccrophylia, but when I looked that up it appears the leaves would look larger and variegated. Perhaps they are Cynoglossum amabile? Anyone? I guess I’ll have to go back when they open (which is soon) and see if they are labeled. Meanwhile, if anyone knows … you know I’ll happily accept the ID!

This is from today’s six mile walk: I saw some wonderful dahlias in front of an attorney’s office so I planted myself on the ground (well, not literally) and enjoyed some camera time with them. I kept thinking someone from the office my question me (my lens was aimed right toward a big office window) but I guess they either weren’t there or didn’t mind what I was doing. The flowers were pretty darn stunning!
