Done … and Goodnight!

DONE! I’m pretty excited: my photos are matted, framed and packed up and I will ship them off to Sierra Art Trails tomorrow morning.

Now I can relax.

Oh. Wait. I have an opera to work on which we begin rehearsing on Thursday, I still have my wonderful students, and I’m playing a little something for the Sierra Art Trails reception so i want to get that in great shape. Besides, I never relax anyway, right?

Go figure! 🙂

This is a little something from our very own yard that I shot today as I arrived home from my walk. I think I’ll make it my goodnight photo since I don’t know if I’ll work on anything else tonight.

First Shot

I took a little six mile walk today, and while out and about, and shooting an iris in the parking strip at a house the homeowner came out looking fairly angry. She asked what I was doing, but when she saw the camera she was fine. She thought I was checking her water meter! Sounds like maybe she has an issue with the water company.

So this is my first shot of the day. It is not my best shot of the day. That is all.

Hello Tuesday Morning

It is only 8:23 and it is already over 60° here in my corner of the world. Sigh.

Rain. I. Want. Rain.

Still, I will greet you with a flower, because it seems like the right thing to do. I made this yesterday. I appreciate it when a magnolia flower drops only some of its tepals (yes, I spelled that correctly!) so I can shoot the carpels and stamens more easily.

(I’m tempted to rework this in black and white: I suspect it would look quite good that way.)
