This was the first lupine I shot while on our pack trip. It most certainly wasn’t the last.

Last year we headed to Death Valley at the end of March. This year I don’t get to go, and I’m rather sad about that, so I’m going through photos from last year. It’s surprising to see things I’d forgotten about … and it does make me even sadder that I can’t get there this year. But such is life: I have students to teach and concerts to play and sometimes I just can’t take the trips I’d like to take.
This is from last year. I always love lupine!
After a fun Symphony Silicon Valley concert I hopped in my car and Adams’ Harmonielehre was on. I love that work, and it was nice to drive home to, although of course I live too close so I arrived home before it finished. Guess I know what I’ll want to listen to when I have the time. 🙂
One more concert tomorrow and we say goodbye to Ravel and Gershwin for now. Having Jon Nakamatsu back is always a tremendous joy. I’m completely astounded that he plays both of the Gershwin works in one concert, sounding amazing as always, and doesn’t appear wiped out at the end. Wow!
Meanwhile, it’s time for a goodnight flower, don’t you think? Since I’m still looking at older Yosemite shots, here’s one from that area that I’m only now working on.
