Good Morning!

Happy Saturday to one and all.

I’ve now started reviewing (and working on) my March, 2014 photos. It’ll be so much fun to see what’s in there: I don’t believe I’ve revisited some of these since I downloaded them, due to busy times. March 1st had us in Yosemite, since Dan had a photo in the Yosemite Renaissance exhibit (as he does again this year). Even when in Yosemite I tend to pull out the macro lens. I just can’t help myself! I’m hoping someone will take one look at this and tell me what tree this is. Surely somebody out there knows …?

First Shot

I had a lovely seven mile walk today. I’m sorry to write it was lovely, really, since I should be writing “I couldn’t walk because it was pouring,” or some such thing.  I do hope I get to write that at least once this year. I certainly pray that I can write it a whole lot more than once.

But of course since I could go out I did, and I took the camera, as I always do.

A first shot is a first shot: sometimes it turns out to be printable, and sometimes not. I still like to post them no matter, though, just to give readers an idea of how I start out.

Good Morning World!

When we were visiting the birds it was rather foggy. We stopped to see these little guys, who were visible, but only a bit, due to both the brush and the fog. This is my first shot, when I was still getting my head in gear for the fun day. As is typical with me, it’s doubtful it could be a printable shot, but it is the first shot. No doubt there. It was morning, so I’m sharing it as my good morning shot.

Monday Morning Post

Today was pretty much a no-walk day: I was waiting around for a package delivery, because I just hated the idea of rescheduling and waiting yet another day. Of course the delivery came at 4:47 PM … figures! Still, it did mean I got some house cleaning done, and of course I had practicing to do as well.

It also meant I forgot to post any photo this morning. Funny how staying home meant I neglected that. (Not that I have to post something every morning … right?!) Over on G+ it’s #MonochromeMonday, so I guess I’ll post something in … ta-da! … monochrome.

Happy Saturday Morning

Happy Saturday Morning to one and all! I have a busy day ahead, beginning with four oboe students. Yes, on a Saturday morning. Again.

I still question my wisdom in scheduling students on Saturday … until they start arriving. Then I just enjoy them, as they are all fun students who, for the most part, practice!

For now, though, I’m trying to “unblurify” the brain with my morning latté. Yes, I wrote “unblurify”. I’ll blame the reeds.

Here … it’s “unsharp Saturday” on Google+, after all, and it fits with my blurry brain! This is from Death Valley, as I’m sure you can tell. Or maybe not.

I’m sorting through 2014 photos to delete the garbage and see if I find anything I really like that I didn’t notice before. (This shot is from today’s sorting work.) Frequently, in getting home from a walk, I download photos and have to race to start teaching and neglect to ever look at what I have. Silly, but true. Going through everything takes a great deal of time. I first click X on those I figure I’ll trash, but I then wait a week or so to make sure I’m certain there is no hope for them: sometimes I return and see something different. Still, one only needs one good shot of a flower and if I have, say, ten of the very same thing, there’s just no point in keeping them all. Funny how I feel guilty, though, deleting my “babies”. Call me crazy.
